Shakespeare County Raceway, near Stratford upon Avon, is where Junior Drag Bike racing happens.
Shakespeare County Raceway has a great place in British drag racing history. Today it boasts a super sticky, billiard table smooth track and the best safety facilities available in the UK. Not only that, it is totally family friendly with grandstands, clean showers and toilet block, clubhouse with free live music and disabled facilities including a purpose built viewing platform.
Racing began at Long Marston in the 1950's with the venue gradually improved, until in 1989 the track was refurbished to NHRA specifications and renamed Avon Park Raceway. Fitted with top quality Portatree 2000 timing equipment the track has gone from strength to strength and was recently renamed yet again.
The success of the Super Series events in recent years and the Ultimate Power Championship has seen frequent TV coverage on Sky Sports and the release of a series of excellent videos/DVD’s covering those events including Junior Drag Bike. |
